THE HEALING CIRCLES

2013-03-23 07.10.37

circles turn
circles return
circles we are

some things turn
some people turn
into things

we turn
each other
into you and me

return return
step back forward
step by step

no one walks
no walking
no walker
nothing to walk

nothing is holy
all stays
open wide

i am a circle
you are a circle
we are healing

each other
grounded
in circling worlds

our own decisions
our own life
infinite eternity

Off The Cuff ( Woven Hand)

of the cuff

You seek a vision
To get your hardened hearts to beat
I cannot see in this light
I cannot think in this heat
Fingers on glass and a singing horn
The oldest peacock ever born

On the wind come back to me
Close so I can hear it
She is chosen she dances in the creek
He is love he is spirit

I was bitten and woke before the sun
The past keeps coming all hitched up together
Redoubled in a crude mind
One of their number
We bring our best machine
One to hang down from her waist
We bring our best machine
One to wash yourself clean

On the wind come back to me
Close so I can hear it
She is chosen she dances in the creek
He is love yes he is spirit

Our best machine
Out best machine
We bring our best machine

The Orchard Gate (Lyrics) Woven Hand:

At the orchard gate today
Was that tomorrow
Istenem
Make a fire
Kiss your heart
Risha
Arabic for feather

In this way my love
Whispers to me
Warm, beloved and still
In this way my love
Come to me

In a language of two hands
It is a strange poetry

She is turning
Turning in
From all the temples of old
From all the holds
In which its stowed
Turning into gold

In his way through
A sacred dimension
Not by might
Nor by power
By his spirit
His loving intention
His loving intention

In this way my love
Whispers to me
Warm, beloved and still
In this way my love
Come to me

In a language of two hands
It is a strange poetry

See the golden chariot wheel
It glitters down
To the bottom of the red sea deep
I see the end now
Entertaining thoughts of sleep

In this way my love
Whisper to me
Warm beloved and still
In this way my love
Come to me

She is turning
She is turning in
In the language of two hands
She is turning in
She is turning
Turning into gold

Liber Al:

„Aufgehoben sind alle Rituale, alle Prüfungen, alle Worte und Zeichen.“

Buddha:

„If I had a position, no doubt fault could be found with it. Since I have no position, that problem does not arise.“ How could he avoid taking a position? There is no position to be taught because there is no truth that needs to be attained; all we need to do is let-go of delusion: „Ultimate serenity [or beatitude: siva] is the coming to rest of all ways of taking things, the repose of named things; no Truth has been taught by a Buddha for anyone, anywhere.“ (MMK 25:24) The Astasahasrika, probably the oldest and most important of the prajnaparamita sutras, begins by emphasizing the same point:

No wisdom can we get hold of, no highest perfection,
No Bodhisattva, no thought of enlightenment either.
When told of this, if not bewildered and in no way anxious,
A Bodhisattva courses in the Tathagata’s wisdom.

In the Diamond Sutra Subhuti asks the Buddha if his realization of supreme enlightenment means that he has not acquired anything. „Just so, Subhuti. I have not acquired even the least thing from supreme enlightenment, and that is called supreme enlightenment.“ Then it could just as well be called supreme ignorance — as long as that is not confused with ordinary ignorance.

Kommentar zum MMK (Nagarjuna):

„It is easy to keep from walking; the hard thing is to walk without touching the ground.“ (ch. 2, W58). And it is easy to keep from talking; the hard thing is to talk without needing to touch a ground. According to Graham’s gloss, it is easy to withdraw from the world and live as a hermit, it is harder to remain above the world while living in it. Yet without a self we float quite easily, if its need to ground itself is what weighs us down.

SUFI WHIRLING (RUMI)

Sufi whirling —

we came whirling
out of nothingness
scattering stars
like dust

the stars made a circle
and in the middle
we dance

the wheel of heaven
circles God
like a mill

if you grab a spoke
it will tear your hand off

turning and turning
it sunders
all attachment

were that wheel not in love
it would cry
“enough! how long this turning?”

every atom
turns bewildered

beggars circle tables
dogs circle carrion
the lover circles
his own heart

ashamed,
I circle shame

a ruined water wheel
whichever way I turn
is the river

if that rusty old sky
creaks to a stop
still, still I turn

and it is only God
circling Himself

Where Does The Dance Begin, Where Does It End?

Don’t call this world adorable, or useful, that’s not it.
It’s frisky, and a theater for more than fair winds.
The eyelash of lightning is neither good nor evil.
The struck tree burns like a pillar of gold.

But the blue rain sinks, straight to the white
feet of the trees
whose mouths open.
Doesn’t the wind, turning in circles, invent the dance?
Haven’t the flowers moved, slowly, across Asia, then Europe,
until at last, now, they shine
in your own yard?

Don’t call this world an explanation, or even an education.

When the Sufi poet whirled, was he looking
outward, to the mountains so solidly there
in a white-capped ring, or was he looking

to the center of everything: the seed, the egg, the idea
that was also there,
beautiful as a thumb
curved and touching the finger, tenderly,
little love-ring,

as he whirled,
oh jug of breath,
in the garden of dust?

~ Mary Oliver
